Our Portland SAT instructor has 20+ years of private academic tutoring and standardized test prep experience combining methods from various major test prep companies. She graduated as Valedictorian from Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis, Oregon, and summa cum laude as well as Phi Beta Kappa (oldest American academic honor society) from Stanford University. She has tutored since her freshman year at Stanford when she began working as a peer tutor for Stanford’s Center for Teaching and Learning. Since then, She has tutored professionally, encompassing a wide range of subjects and her specialties are statistics, math, science, writing/editing, and standardized tests. She has also edited college math and science textbooks for the publishers Addison-Wesley and Pearson Education, and worked on writing and test-taking skills with most of her students. She has helped several students apply or transfer successfully to top schools including Stanford, Harvard, OHSU, and Lewis & Clark Law School and have often tutored directly for or through those institutions.
