High school is the education students receive in the final stage of secondary education in the United States and Canada. Most high schools include grades nine through twelve, and students attend it after completing middle school. High schools have subject-based classes: typically four to eight 45-90 minute class periods, broken up by around five minutes to get to the next class.
Homework amount differs depending on the school's purpose and culture. Extracurricular sports team and school clubs & activities take place right after school. Students also take college entrance exams, namely the SAT or ACT, if they plan on applying to a four-year college.
When you homeschool a high school student, they are generally more mature, often have better study habits, and are able to take more responsibility for their own learning. This makes high school a very ideal time to homeschool your student!
Our high school homeschool instructors can work with you to determine the best-fit study method and curriculum for your children.
