GMAT Verbal Grammar Quick Tip - Adverb and Adjective - Berlin

Great care must be taken to align only with the word it actually modifies, because its positioning can affect the meaning of the sentence:

  • I did GMAT prep only yesterday - I don't need to do any today.
  • I only did GMAT prep yesterday - I didn't do anything else.
  • I did only GMAT prep yesterday. - I didn't eat anything else.
  • Only I did GMAT prep yesterday - nobody else did any.

Early may be both adjective and adverb:

  • I take the early train.
  • I get up early to take the train.

Berlin GMAT Prep Instructor

Our Berlin GMAT instructor has become a Manhattan Elite Prep superstar for whom GMAT and GRE preparation comes naturally. She received her undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College, where she also worked in the capacity of a teaching assistant and tutor at the College Writing Center. Her studies there allowed her to achieve a 99th percentile score on the GRE, which garnered her admission into Oxford University's Graduate Program in Philosophy. An American living in Berlin, she is eager to impart to her students the skills she used to succeed.

After graduating from Middlebury College with a degree in Economics, Computer Science, and German, she earned her MBA from the European University in Munich, and is currently working on her PhD. She also volunteers in conducting admissions interviews on behalf of Middlebury College in Germany. Neli has also worked as a university professor and as a business analyst for companies like Microsoft.
