Zurich GMAT Prep Instructor

Our Zurich GMAT instructor is a very experienced tutor of the GMAT exam. A world traveler, he earned his initial degree from the Indian Institute of Management, and then later attended UC Berkeley and then earned his MBA from the INSEAD in Europe. He scored a very impressive 730 on his GMAT, with a 97% on his Quantitative and a 89% on his Verbal. Our Zurich GMAT instructor has worked for Manhattan Elite Prep for a number of years and has helped many students achieve improved scores that propelled them into the MBA programs of their choosing.

Zurich GMAT Teacher & Tutor

Our Zurich GMAT instructor graduated from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand with a bachelor's degree, an honors degree and a master's degree in international politics. With several years of business experience, a GMAT score of 770 (99th percentile), and equally great GRE scores, he is more than well qualified in teaching GMAT preparation courses. He is currently working as a corporate trainer, a GMAT teacher, and an English teacher. Holding a CELTA, Certificate in English Language Teaching, he is able to teach the TOEFL exam as well as general English.

GMAT Verbal Grammar - Transitive and Intransitive Verbs - Zurich

Verb

A class of words that serve to indicate the occurrence or performance of an action, or the existence of a state or condition. English verbs are normally expressed in the infinitive form, together with ``to''. For example, to run, to walk, to work, etc.

Transitive and Intransitive Verbs

A verb is said to be transitive if it needs an object to complete the meaning:

John kicked his GMAT instructor. It is intransitive if the meaning is complete in itself:

  • I smiled.
  • The rain falls.

Some verbs may be either transitive or intransitive (meaning that they do not require an object to be complete, but they can take one to add detail):

  • I studied.
  • I studied for the GMAT.
